The Conservation Foundation of Polk County welcomes Addison McKown as our Development Manager. Addison brings passion, experience, and strategic vision to our team, all rooted in her commitment to deepen people’s connection to the natural world.

From coordinating complex field products in remote Alaska to leading strategic communications and fundraising initiatives across the Midwest, Addison’s work strengthens access to natural spaces and supports sustainable programming that benefits us all.

Working in rural natural environments, Addison developed a deep appreciation for land stewardship, collaborative problem-solving, and the importance of sustainable access to natural spaces. Now, she brings that dedication to her work with CFPC, building partnerships, securing funding, and developing strategies that keep outdoor spaces vibrant, accessible, and community-centered for generations to come.

Beyond her dedication to our mission, Addison is a concert enthusiast, avid gardener, horse rider, big reader, and devoted cat person. If she were a pasta shape, she’d be cavatappi — twirling every time she leaves a room.

Please welcome Addison and reach out to her with questions about donations, volunteer opportunities, and pasta dinner recipes.
