Conservation Foundation of Polk County
Be a Force For Nature.
Nurturing the environment is in your nature — and ours.
Our Mission
Give back to the natural spaces that give us so much.
The Conservation Foundation of Polk County (CFPC) is a non-profit organization powering nature-first conservation, educational programming, and outdoor spaces for Polk County Conservation and the people we serve.
When you support CFPC, you become a Force for Nature, standing on the frontline with the people who do the hands-on work to make your nearby park possible, your local wildlife habitat healthy, your community wetlands protected, and the outdoors more accessible to everyone.
HANDS-ON IMPACT
You can help make projects like these possible.
Monitoring Water
Each month, volunteers collect samples to help inform local ecologists, researchers, recreation managers, and water treatment professionals on how best to engage with, manage, and treat our valuable local water sources.
Building Community
Each day, countless dedicated volunteers clean, clear, seed, teach, maintain, monitor, and more. They get their hands dirty defending and protecting the land, and the wildlife and people who depend on it.
Improving Wellness
Every one of the outdoor spaces managed by Polk County Conservation gives visitors the opportunity to improve their physical and mental well-being. Natural spaces bring communities together to paddle, skate, picnic, camp, and learn.
Supporting Accessibility
Athene North Shore Recreation Area is a park designed for all people. We welcome individuals of all abilities, and encourage connection with nature through inclusive and accessible activities and adaptive equipment.
